It is forever

It hung around her neck

like the mast on the ship's deck

to produce a colourful sight.

It caught everyone's attention
such that they forgot all their tension
as it dazzled in front of their eyes
like the roll of a dice.


It shone like a star
and could be seen from far
sparkling and dazzling
all the evening.

Its light entered her body
giving her an intoxication like the drink of toddy
which gave her an excitement
like life's some secret fulfilment.


It came from the midst of all that dirt
flaunting her like a flirt
and giving her a piece of mind
that was so hard to find.

It absorbed all that pressure
and became a priceless treasure
which when crafted with high precision
ignites a dangerous passion.

It came at a huge cost
with lots of blood lost
and fuelled civil wars
with people acting as hot headed boars.

It is as precious as a woman's heart
such that when you have to part
with it, you'll always say never.
